My Google Wish List
There are an involving “wishes” that I have for Google’s future. Because i would like number one ranking for all of my important keywords and phrases, but I may possibly willing to settle for Google acknowledging at least a few of my wishes that will conserve the search community as a completely.
Google commenced as the beloved child, a fledgling start up that was all heart, and today they is a “hated” designer. Why the lose its position? In methods Google can be a victim in the too big, too powerful, and too successful affliction that attacks companies that achieve a fair of success that few companies hope of. Now it doesn’t mean i am providing them a pass, they have room increase and I really do not hate them. I just think there can be a lot of areas they can improve.
I sat down and wrote an empty letter to Google about my wishes and dreams for their future:
Please think about the following for areas of improvement.
1. Usenet and Feed.
Please, I’m begging, (groveling if it will now help) create RSS feeds for Google Groups keyword searches. Think about the value, you could monitor Usenet for company or product names using RSS feeds. This would be a highly easy way for businesses (and Google users) to stay in tune employing is being said on Usenet whereas in forums about specific topics.
3. Protect Your Readers.
For goodness sake, don’t make it so straightforward for people to rip off software companies. Have you ever you suggest cracks or serials on a Google Suggest tool? Help protect the intellectual property of clients!
4. Stop Tracking Everything I implement!
I login in to Writely (now Google Docs) and feel as if I am being stalked, you monitor searches, you monitor tracking through analytics, you monitor advertising through Google Adwords, you monitor money earned as a publisher through Google AdSense, and congratulations, you have connected many for this accounts combined. Please give users a little privacy, or an ability to simply manage multiple logins.
5. Spot How Much I Gain!
Clearly tell publishers what percentage range they should expect to receive when they serve AdSense on their content websites. Now, I realize that it might vary publisher to publisher, but disclose an array. Or at the least, consider adopting one similar to Amazon’s where publishers number of revenue earned is dependant upon their quantities.
6. Google Alert via RSS.
The current Google alert system comes from the 1990’s (figuratively speaking) please include an option to obtain Google alerts via Nourishes. I know you can setup a Google News search using RSS, would seem silly that they is not available via Google Alerts. http://www.google.com/alerts
7. Faster Blog Indexing.
Google is all about search, right? Why are they so slow at indexing a blog? In fact the Google blog search performs far worse than many of the blog specific motors. Search should be Google’s strength instead found in a weakness. Perhaps the breadth of blogs searched, and the attached blogs on Google’s blog search take presctiption the thin side. Definitely room for improvement in this area.
8. Same Rules.
I wish that guidelines were the same for all AdSense publishers regardless among the revenue that produced. In talking with publishers, preserving the earth . clear that there are a different set of standards, made from the revenue produced or traffic that this website receives. Keep the game even, if someone is any subversive tactic, they likely has be penalized regardless health of their revenue.
9. Combat 2nd Generation Fraud.
What is second generation fraud? Fraudsters bid high for AdWords, what nevertheless paying for keywords or phrasing is irrelevant, because the credit card they are using is deceitful. They make legitimate affiliate sales over the website and profit using their “free” driving. Google should help connect the dots on these sites, and ban web sites from their organic service.
10. Drop DMOZ.
Please either drop the Google Dmoz directory listings, or pay to staff DMOZ with reputable editors who maintain up. The Dmoz listings are hopelessly outdated and not just reflective of current pages.
11. Protect Copyrights / Trademarks.
Google usually flip-flop on an issue of allowing competitors to bid on branded words in their AdWords pages. The current policy usually be, that competitors cannot use a trademark in the advertisement, but competitors can easily still bid on trademarked terms. A company Google’s size should acquire more respect for trademarks. I do wish Google would stand firm on thought of trademarks and prevent competitors from bidding around the terms.
12. Bury the Sand pit.
Dispose for this sandbox or aging delay, or heck get gone both. Face it, valuable websites are created every holiday weekend. The Internet is fluid and valuable websites probably will not be penalized because inside of their youth. The sandbox and aging delay, may deter spam sites, but there must be a way.
13. Allow me to Be Anonymous!
Why would you need my personal information? Adsense Account in major scheme of the stuff that Google does? Why do you need my private information?
14. Stop Putting US Companies at Disadvantage.
Canadian and non-US companies can setup literally any huge selection of AdSense publisher accounts, yet US companies are tracked using tax ID numbers hence they can only have one bill.
15. Weigh Wikipedia A lot less.
Lets face it, One can edit Wikipedia. The information read in Wikipedia might be accurate 1 day and incorrect the consequently. Wikipedia is a nice resource, but is not a reliable indicator information and facts. Please do not use links from Wikipedia to indicate a sites worth. Wikipedia uses similar model as Dmoz offers languished, volunteers can only do as much.
16. Make an RSS Search Cycle.
Why hasn’t Google performed this? I am mixed-up. The blog search engine is no RSS search engine, a power for being able to browse ALL For. There are a number of small RSS msn search portals available but there is not a distinct leader, diane puttman is hoping where Google could and should be.
17. Stop Buying Outfits.
Stop the purchasing, Yahoo is big enough already. Finish all points that Google has launched. Keep in mind even though the archives on the net might last forever, end up being rare that companies retain power and clout for any length energy. Remember Infoseek, or Altavista? Focus on your pros.
While my Google wish list might appear trivial, the actual all things which Google could do to earn their way back into my good graces.
Permissions and notification of use not a necessity.
